Simply put, because there is a need!
People underestimate the need for community support and not all community support comes from financial help. Being apart of a community and being able to participate in the community sometimes presents challenges.
Sometimes its simply recognizing a need or want and doing what you can to fix it or make it better for those around you. Thats what we do at PhoenFX- we try to make a happier community by understanding the want and needs of people in our community that have challenges that so many of us do not.
The need for Social Connection is underestimated and yet it is crucial for our physical and mental well being. Being able to go out and be with friends and family is something many take for granted. However there is an entire population of people that can’t simply participate in events due to Processing Disorders, Neuro Developmental Disorders, or Post-traumatic stress disorder.
Holiday seasons are exceptionally difficult for some due to the lights and noise. We understand that and our goal is to create immersive environments that can be controlled by using technology and understanding the needs of guests to allow everyone to enjoy regardless of a disability or not.
In short, we create adaptive immersive environments for everyone to enjoy. Thanks to our wonder Sponsors and Donors we are able to bridge the gap in our community for everyone to enjoy and have fun during the holiday seasons
How we do it…
The non profit organizations in our country do tremendous work. They represent the best in the human spirit- people, as individuals, reaching out to those in need, giving of themselves with an almost reckless abandon, and tireless working for the benefit of others. And the work we do supports them and our community at large.
Our efforts serve the community are three fold: first, our host charity keeps 100% of the net profits and our team works around the clock to secure enough funding to pay for our scarehouses fully so that every penny raised on site stays with the host charity.
Second, and unlike any other haunt out there, our haunts are a fully adaptive environment without sacrificing its immersive nature. Through our Lantern Protocol, we adapt -within minutes- to the needs of the sensory sensitive populations. This means children and adults on the autism spectrum, individuals with epilepsy and those with PTSD (just to name a few) can enjoy the same scarehouse experience while still having their specific requirements met. And because we can do it on a moment’s notice, instead having a special day or showing, everyone can enjoy, equally, the same sense of excitement and social connection that is inherent at a scarehouse event!
Third, we pull our talent from the local community- youth groups and high schools- and involving them in every part of the process (from design and build to acting and management) giving young adults experience as working as part of larger, professional team while they earn their required community service hours for graduation.
